BMC Stock Holdings, Inc. was one of the largest professional building materials distributors in the United States, serving homebuilders, remodelers, and contractors with lumber, structural components, millwork, doors, windows, and installed services. The company was formed in December 2015 through the merger of Stock Building Supply and Building Materials Holding Corporation (BMHC) and traded on NASDAQ under the ticker BMCH, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. On January 1, 2021, BMC Stock Holdings completed an all-stock "merger of equals" with Builders FirstSource (NYSE: BLDR), creating the nation's largest supplier of structural building products to the professional homebuilding market. The combined company retained the Builders FirstSource name, BLDR ticker, and Irving, Texas headquarters. The merger had an enterprise value of approximately $2.5 billion and produced a company with more than $11 billion in annual sales, approximately 26,000 employees, and roughly 550 distribution and manufacturing locations across more than 40 U.S. states. BMC Stock Holdings no longer exists as an independent entity. The legacy buildwithbmc.com domain redirects to bldr.com, and BMC product lines and branches have been absorbed into the Builders FirstSource network.
