L2

L2 Inc was a subscription research and business intelligence firm founded in New York City in 2010 by NYU Stern marketing professor Scott Galloway and co-founder Maureen Mullen. L2 benchmarked the digital competence of consumer brands, publishing more than 25 Digital IQ Index reports each year covering over 2,200 brands across fashion, luxury, retail, beauty, financial services, hospitality and consumer packaged goods. Its research scored brands on site experience, e-commerce, digital marketing, social media and mobile execution, and was sold as a subscription to CMOs and senior marketing leaders. The firm raised roughly $16.5 million in venture funding, including backing from General Catalyst (Larry Bohn and Paul Sagan) from 2014. Gartner acquired L2 in March 2017, when it had about 150 employees across New York and London, and folded the Digital IQ research into Gartner for Marketers. L2 never operated a public developer program or API: its research was delivered through a subscriber web platform and published reports. The l2inc.com domain is registered but no longer resolves, and no L2-branded developer, documentation or API surface remains online. This profile is retained as an acquired-company record with no API artifacts.

human only

Index entry only — little beyond a description and a link, and nothing machine-readable enough for an agent to act on without a human reading the site first.

Kin Score

L2 is tracked in the API Evangelist network. This page is the human-readable profile that sits on top of the machine-readable index we maintain at apis.io.

Every provider in the network is reduced to the same set of machine-readable artifacts — OpenAPI contracts, event specifications, GraphQL schemas, runnable collections, pricing and rate-limit signals, security posture, OAuth scopes, and the agent surfaces (MCP servers and skills) that let software drive the API on its own. We profile them because the interface is the part of a company you can actually inspect: it is a truer signal of what a provider does than any marketing page. From those artifacts we compute the Kin Score — L2 scores 6.8/100 (minimal), with a separate agent-readiness read of 0/100 (human only). The full breakdown is below, followed by every artifact we hold — each card links through to its machine-readable definition on apis.io.

Kin Score

This is the API Evangelist rating — a single, repeatable read computed from the artifacts on this page. Green fill is points earned; the red track is points possible, so every bar shows earned-versus-possible at a glance.

L2 is in the network as a tracked entity. We haven't yet indexed a public API surface for it — when one is published, the artifacts, score, and agent-readiness read will appear here automatically. The source repository is where that profile is built.
