PJM Interconnection
PJM Interconnection is the regional transmission organization (RTO) that operates the largest competitive wholesale electricity market in the United States, coordinating the movement of electricity across all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia for roughly 67 million people. PJM sits at the wholesale layer of the energy value chain — it has no retail customers, so no Green Button, ESPI or consumer data-sharing obligation applies to it. Its API posture is honestly "rich data, universally gated": PJM publishes a large machine-readable market data catalogue through the Data Miner 2 API at https://api.pjm.com/api/v1 and an Azure API Management developer portal at https://apiportal.pjm.com, but every feed returns HTTP 401 anonymously and a free subscription key is only issued after a PJM Tools account is registered and approved by a Customer Account Manager. Its one genuinely mandated interface is the FERC Order 889 / NAESB WEQ OASIS node, which is verifiably live and standards-conformant at https://pjmoasis.pjm.com, though template submission also requires an authenticated PJM SSO session.
PJM Interconnection is tracked in the API Evangelist network. This page is the human-readable profile that sits on top of the machine-readable index we maintain at apis.io.
Every provider in the network is reduced to the same set of machine-readable artifacts — OpenAPI contracts, event specifications, GraphQL schemas, runnable collections, pricing and rate-limit signals, security posture, OAuth scopes, and the agent surfaces (MCP servers and skills) that let software drive the API on its own. We profile them because the interface is the part of a company you can actually inspect: it is a truer signal of what a provider does than any marketing page. The full breakdown is below, followed by every artifact we hold — each card links through to its machine-readable definition on apis.io.
PJM Interconnection is in the network as a tracked entity. We haven't yet indexed a public API surface for it — when one is published, the artifacts, score, and agent-readiness read will appear here automatically. The source repository is where that profile is built.
