TakeOff
Takeoff Technologies, Inc. is an eGrocery micro-fulfillment company founded in 2016 and headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts. It paired KNAPP-built robotic storage-and-retrieval hardware with its own cloud software stack — order management, inventory, pick routing, labor management, and delivery orchestration — into micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs) installed inside or beside existing supermarkets, so grocers could assemble online orders in minutes instead of sending shoppers down the aisles. Customers and partners included Albertsons, Wakefern Food Corp., Woolworths Group and Chilean grocer SMU. The company filed for Chapter 11 in May 2024 and Woolworths Group acquired its micro-fulfillment assets in August 2024. Takeoff never published a public developer program: there is no developer portal, API reference, SDK or machine-readable specification anywhere on its public surface, and the marketing site at www.takeoff.com no longer serves TLS. A closed API gateway at api.takeoff.com remains live and actively certificate-maintained, serving customer integrations behind authentication.
Index entry only — little beyond a description and a link, and nothing machine-readable enough for an agent to act on without a human reading the site first.
API Evangelist profiles TakeOff the way a machine reads it — 2 machine-readable artifacts, pulled from the provider's own public surface and indexed so a developer, an analyst, or an AI agent can evaluate it against every other provider on the network.
Every provider in the network is reduced to the same set of machine-readable artifacts — OpenAPI contracts, event specifications, GraphQL schemas, runnable collections, pricing and rate-limit signals, security posture, OAuth scopes, and the agent surfaces (MCP servers and skills) that let software drive the API on its own. We profile them because the interface is the part of a company you can actually inspect: it is a truer signal of what a provider does than any marketing page. From those artifacts we compute the Kin Score — TakeOff scores 6.1/100 (minimal), with a separate agent-readiness read of 0/100 (human only). The full breakdown is below, followed by every artifact we hold — each card links through to its machine-readable definition on apis.io.
Why this profile is thin
Takeoff's API is real and live but has no public face at all: api.takeoff.com holds a Google Trust Services certificate reissued 2026-07-16 and answers {"code":"401", "message":"Missing authentication header."} on /auth and /sites and {"message":"Forbidden"} on /webhooks and /identity, yet it names no header, serves no OAuth metadata and 404s every spec path, while the company's own marketing site www.takeoff.com has had no TLS certificate provisioned at its Webflow origin since the 2024 Chapter 11 and Woolworths asset sale — so integration docs exist only for deployed grocer tenants.
An API exists — we simply could not reach the contract without credentials or a sales conversation. This one is TakeOff's to change: publishing the reference and a machine-readable spec at a public URL, while keeping key issuance behind whatever gate they like, would let an integrator evaluate the API before committing to a call.

Kin Score
This is the API Evangelist rating — a single, repeatable read computed from the artifacts on this page. Green fill is points earned; the red track is points possible, so every bar shows earned-versus-possible at a glance. Every facet and dimension name is a link: it opens that measurement's page on APIs.io, where the rating runs across the whole catalog — the exact checks that feed it, how every profiled provider distributes on it, and who is at the top of it.
Put this on your own site. The badge is drawn live from TakeOff's current Kin Score — paste it once and it updates itself every time the score is recomputed. It follows your visitor's light or dark setting, and it links back here so anyone who sees it can read the full breakdown.

How we profile TakeOff
Each block below is one kind of artifact we hold for TakeOff. For each we say what it is and why it earns a place in the profile, then list every one we've indexed — capped at two rows, scroll within the panel for the rest.
Security Posture 2
Authentication, domain security, vulnerability disclosure, and trust-center signals — the evidence that a provider takes security seriously enough to document it. We profile it because you can't govern what you can't see.

This is an independent, third-party profile of TakeOff, published by API Evangelist. We do not operate, host, resell, or support these APIs, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the company unless stated above. Everything here is built from publicly available information — the company's own site, developer portal, documentation, public repositories, and the specifications it publishes for public use. Nothing is obtained by breaching a system, defeating an access control, or using credentials.
The Kin Score and Agent Readiness rating are independently calculated assessments of a company's public API artifacts, scored against a published rubric. They are not certifications, endorsements, security assessments, or audits.
Corrections, re-scores, and removal are free — no partnership or purchase required, and you do not need to justify the request. A removed company is recorded as unrated, never scored zero for having asked. Acknowledgement within one business day; removal within two.
