King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is a public research university in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Its programmable footprint is small, and most of what previously appeared in this profile was not its own: 37 OpenAPI definitions attributed to KFUPM here were the Elsevier Pure Web Services contract (info.title "Pure API", contact pure-support@elsevier.com, version 5.35.3-4) served from the university's Pure tenant at pure.kfupm.edu.sa. That contract is Elsevier's and has been removed; the tenant relationship is recorded instead. What KFUPM genuinely operates is three surfaces on its own infrastructure. Its identity provider at sts.kfupm.edu.sa publishes signed SAML 2.0 federation metadata and an OpenID Connect discovery document, and is registered in eduGAIN through MAEEN, the Saudi identity federation, with scope kfupm.edu.sa — an institution-operated machine-readable surface by definition. The KFUPM ePrints repository (EPrints 3.4.1) serves a live, unauthenticated OAI-PMH 2.0 harvesting interface with six working verbs and six metadata formats, plus record-level and search-level JSON export whose record model carries a KFUPM-local `arabic_abstract` field. The registrar publishes a live course offering system, but it answers only an HTML form POST and returns no machine-readable format. There is no central developer portal, no API documentation, no changelog, no status page, no robots.txt, no sitemap and no llms.txt on the university's own domain. The library discovery surface sits behind a Cloudflare bot challenge. KFUPM does not publish an OpenAPI for anything it operates; the three descriptions in this repo were derived by probing the live endpoints.
Real signal across most facets with visible, nameable gaps — the contract exists but is thin, or the portal is good while governance and commercial terms are absent.
API Evangelist profiles King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals the way a machine reads it — 12 machine-readable artifacts across 3 APIs, pulled from the provider's own public surface and indexed so a developer, an analyst, or an AI agent can evaluate it against every other provider on the network.
Every provider in the network is reduced to the same set of machine-readable artifacts — OpenAPI contracts, event specifications, GraphQL schemas, runnable collections, pricing and rate-limit signals, security posture, OAuth scopes, and the agent surfaces (MCP servers and skills) that let software drive the API on its own. We profile them because the interface is the part of a company you can actually inspect: it is a truer signal of what a provider does than any marketing page. From those artifacts we compute the Kin Score — King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals scores 39.6/100 (developing), with a separate agent-readiness read of 24/100 (agent aware). The full breakdown is below, followed by every artifact we hold — each card links through to its machine-readable definition on apis.io.
Kin Score
This is the API Evangelist rating — a single, repeatable read computed from the artifacts on this page. Green fill is points earned; the red track is points possible, so every bar shows earned-versus-possible at a glance. Every facet and dimension name is a link: it opens that measurement's page on APIs.io, where the rating runs across the whole catalog — the exact checks that feed it, how every profiled provider distributes on it, and who is at the top of it.
Put this on your own site. The badge is drawn live from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals's current Kin Score — paste it once and it updates itself every time the score is recomputed. It follows your visitor's light or dark setting, and it links back here so anyone who sees it can read the full breakdown.

How we profile King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals
Each block below is one kind of artifact we hold for King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. For each we say what it is and why it earns a place in the profile, then list every one we've indexed — capped at two rows, scroll within the panel for the rest.
APIs 4
Each API is captured as its own OpenAPI definition — every operation, parameter, and response. This is the single most useful machine-readable description of what an API does, and it's what lets us score, lint, mock, and generate against it without asking the provider for anything.

Pricing Plans 1
Pricing is part of the interface. Machine-readable plans tell you what a tier costs and includes before you commit — one of the things the Kin Score reads for access clarity — renamed from commercial clarity in rubric 0.12, because a free statutory interface has access terms and no commercial ones.

PLANSRate Limits 1
Rate limits are the difference between a demo that works and a production integration that doesn't fall over. Publishing them is an operational-transparency signal — and a hard requirement for any agent that plans its own throughput.
Documented rate limits and quota policies.

Cost, billing, and metering signals let a buyer model the financial operations of an API before it's live. We profile them for the same reason we profile pricing: the money is part of the contract.

Standalone JSON Schema definitions describe the data models behind the API. We profile them so the shapes are validatable on their own — useful long after a single request is forgotten.

Real request and response payloads are what turn a spec from abstract into obvious — and they're one of the twelve things an agent needs to call an API correctly on the first try.

Security Posture 2
Authentication, domain security, vulnerability disclosure, and trust-center signals — the evidence that a provider takes security seriously enough to document it. We profile it because you can't govern what you can't see.

OAuth scopes are the vocabulary of least-privilege access. Profiling them shows exactly what an integration — or an agent acting on a user's behalf — is allowed to do.

Nothing is obtained by breaching a system, defeating an access control, or using credentials.
The Kin Score and Agent Readiness rating are independently calculated assessments of a company's public API artifacts, scored against a published rubric. They are not certifications, endorsements, security assessments, or audits.
Corrections, re-scores, and removal are free — no partnership or purchase required, and you do not need to justify the request. A removed company is recorded as unrated, never scored zero for having asked. Acknowledgement within one business day; removal within two.
