University of Los Andes Colombia
Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes) is a private research university in Bogota, Colombia, founded in 1948 and ranked #179 in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Like most universities it is a federation of buyers rather than a producer of APIs: it publishes no developer portal, no API key programme, no OpenAPI of its own and no public API documentation of any kind. What it does operate, on its own registrable domain, is one genuinely public machine-readable surface — an OAI-PMH 2.0 metadata harvesting endpoint for the Revistas Uniandes journal portal, which answers anonymous automated clients across all six protocol verbs and serves the university's own journals. Its second institutional repository, the DSpace 7 deployment "Seneca", sits behind a bot-detection challenge that returns 403 to automated clients; an undocumented host at api.uniandes.edu.co exists but is closed by a Cloudflare WAF on every path. Beyond that, the university's programmable footprint is relationships rather than engineering: a Microsoft Entra ID tenant that is its own SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect identity provider, DOI registrations at both Crossref and DataCite, a ROR record, an OCLC CONTENTdm heritage collection and a D2L Brightspace LMS. Those are real institutional facts and are catalogued here as such, each carrying an x-operator that says who actually runs the thing — none of the vendors' contracts are attributed to Uniandes.
Limited machine-readable signal and partial portal coverage — documentation a human can read, but little a machine or agent can consume without scraping.
API Evangelist profiles University of Los Andes Colombia the way a machine reads it — 18 machine-readable artifacts across 1 API, pulled from the provider's own public surface and indexed so a developer, an analyst, or an AI agent can evaluate it against every other provider on the network.
Every provider in the network is reduced to the same set of machine-readable artifacts — OpenAPI contracts, event specifications, GraphQL schemas, runnable collections, pricing and rate-limit signals, security posture, OAuth scopes, and the agent surfaces (MCP servers and skills) that let software drive the API on its own. We profile them because the interface is the part of a company you can actually inspect: it is a truer signal of what a provider does than any marketing page. From those artifacts we compute the Kin Score — University of Los Andes Colombia scores 38.7/100 (thin), with a separate agent-readiness read of 27/100 (agent aware). The full breakdown is below, followed by every artifact we hold — each card links through to its machine-readable definition on apis.io.
Why this profile is thin
Universidad de los Andes operates no public developer portal, no API key programme and no OpenAPI of its own, and this profile does not pad that absence. Real probing found one anonymously readable institution-operated surface — the Revistas Uniandes OAI-PMH 2.0 endpoint, live across all six verbs — plus a WordPress REST discovery document on the Agora news host. Everything else the institution runs on its own domain is closed to automated clients rather than absent: the DSpace 7 "Seneca" repository returns a bot-detection challenge and 403 on both its OAI and REST paths even under a browser User-Agent, api.uniandes.edu.co answers with a Cloudflare WAF block on every path tried, and the OJS REST API returns a structured 403 needing an editor-issued token. Coverage is therefore gated by bot mitigation on the institution's own infrastructure, not by the institution publishing nothing. Two further notes on the state of the estate at review time: the main website www.uniandes.edu.co and every path under it redirect to mantenimiento.uniandes.edu.co, a branded maintenance page, on three consecutive attempts — the Website pointer is retained because it is the canonical institutional domain serving the institution's own page, but the site itself was not serving content; and the news feed previously harvested from www.uniandes.edu.co/es/noticias is dead for the same reason, which is why the Blog pointer has been moved to agora.uniandes.edu.co, whose RSS feed is live. Beyond the institution's own hosts the footprint is relationships: an Entra ID tenant that is the university's own SAML/OIDC identity provider, Crossref and DataCite DOI registrations, a ROR record, an OCLC CONTENTdm tenancy and a D2L Brightspace tenancy. Those are recorded with x-operator federation, registry and tenant; none of those vendors' or registries' contracts are saved under this institution. No searched-and-not-found surface has been invented: DNS for idp/shibboleth/sso/auth/datos/datosabiertos/developer/hpc/cris/scienti under uniandes.edu.co is NXDOMAIN, cursos and horario return 404, adfs and exacore resolve but filter TCP 80/443 from the public internet, and the github.com/uniandes organization has zero public repositories.
An API exists — we simply could not reach the contract without credentials or a sales conversation. This one is University of Los Andes Colombia's to change: publishing the reference and a machine-readable spec at a public URL, while keeping key issuance behind whatever gate they like, would let an integrator evaluate the API before committing to a call.

Kin Score
This is the API Evangelist rating — a single, repeatable read computed from the artifacts on this page. Green fill is points earned; the red track is points possible, so every bar shows earned-versus-possible at a glance. Every facet and dimension name is a link: it opens that measurement's page on APIs.io, where the rating runs across the whole catalog — the exact checks that feed it, how every profiled provider distributes on it, and who is at the top of it.
Put this on your own site. The badge is drawn live from University of Los Andes Colombia's current Kin Score — paste it once and it updates itself every time the score is recomputed. It follows your visitor's light or dark setting, and it links back here so anyone who sees it can read the full breakdown.

Pricing Plans 1
Pricing is part of the interface. Machine-readable plans tell you what a tier costs and includes before you commit — one of the things the Kin Score reads for access clarity — renamed from commercial clarity in rubric 0.12, because a free statutory interface has access terms and no commercial ones.
Published pricing tiers and plan structures.
Rate Limits 1
Rate limits are the difference between a demo that works and a production integration that doesn't fall over. Publishing them is an operational-transparency signal — and a hard requirement for any agent that plans its own throughput.
Documented rate limits and quota policies.

RATE LIMITSFinOps 1
Cost, billing, and metering signals let a buyer model the financial operations of an API before it's live. We profile them for the same reason we profile pricing: the money is part of the contract.

Semantic Vocabularies 1
JSON-LD contexts give the data shared meaning across APIs. We profile them because semantics are what let a machine reconcile 'customer' here with 'customer' somewhere else.

Security Posture 2
Authentication, domain security, vulnerability disclosure, and trust-center signals — the evidence that a provider takes security seriously enough to document it. We profile it because you can't govern what you can't see.

Nothing is obtained by breaching a system, defeating an access control, or using credentials.
The Kin Score and Agent Readiness rating are independently calculated assessments of a company's public API artifacts, scored against a published rubric. They are not certifications, endorsements, security assessments, or audits.
Corrections, re-scores, and removal are free — no partnership or purchase required, and you do not need to justify the request. A removed company is recorded as unrated, never scored zero for having asked. Acknowledgement within one business day; removal within two.
